David and Elaine Tonge renovated their 1960s bungalow in Sheepscombe, Cotswolds, aiming for a light, contemporary home using sustainable materials.
They chose a recyclable GreenCoat PLX steel roof with high-performance insulation for energy efficiency.
A flawless roof construction with clean lines and a bespoke stainless steel rooflight from Stella enhanced the modern look, natural daylight, and thermal performance.
Architect Geoff Luxton initially specified another rooflight company for the project.
However, after detailed research, David insisted on using Stella Rooflights for his home.
David Tonge said: “Due to the fact that the rooflight was going to be such a crucial element in the overall design, I spent a lot of time researching the various products on the market.
"Stella’s conservation rooflight, with its flush fitting design and high-quality materials, was the only product that ticked all the boxes.”
The architect was so impressed with the rooflight's quality and visual impact that he has since specified Stella Rooflights for several recent projects.

Stella collaborated closely with the client and project team to create a rooflight design that fit perfectly between the steel purlins.
This design gave a wall-to-wall appearance, stretching the entire length of the stairwell and creating the illusion of an open sky above the stairs.
Stella's bespoke design service enabled the creation of a rooflight with precise dimensions to fit the space.
This design achieved the desired look with a European Oak interior liner, a powder coat finish matching the roof color, and high-spec self-clean glazing.
Genuine glazing bars complemented the clean lines of the steel roof, finishing the look perfectly.
David continued: “The rooflight regularly draws complementary comments for how it opens up the space – it’s one of the first things you notice of the property from the outside and has created a striking focal point on the inside.
"It really opens up the downstairs living space, while at the same time flooding the upstairs landing area with natural daylight.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the end result.”
