At Stella Rooflight we can offer both SKN176 and SGG BIOCLEAN self-cleaning glass, depending on your needs.
Both products are a high-performance glazing with BioClean featuring a dual-action ‘hydrophilic’ and ‘photocatalytic’ coating and the SKN176 using EnduroShield.
This is a coating that protects glass against staining and etching during the construction process from exposure to cement slurry, dirt, dust and spills.
EnduroShield is a reliable long lasting solution providing an invisible easy to clean surface. This helps to keep glass cleaner for longer between cleans, and protects the glass from staining over time.

Rooflights are quite often high up in the roof and not easy to access for cleaning.
BIOCLEAN glass is easier and faster to clean, and needs doing so less often. Our rooflights stay clean longer, providing more light with less effort.
We offer a wide range of glazing options for our bespoke rooflights and skylights. Typically our focus is on thermal performance and self-cleaning.
If however you have a requirement for improved sound efficiency, fire, safety or shading then we will have a range of options available for you.
There are a number of factors that you should consider when designing your rooflights and probably the most important is to specify the right glass for the application in which it is being used.
This means that the type and thickness of the rooflight glazing also needs careful consideration. For example, the larger the glass area then the thicker the units will be.
The positioning of the rooflight will also determine what type of glass should be used in the unit make up. For example, our double and triple glazed rooflight units would normally be produced using toughened safety glass but if your rooflights are being fitted at a height of 5m or more above floor level, then the inner pane should be laminated glass.
Likewise, if you are using large areas of glass at lower levels you should consider what is going to be underneath and undertake a risk assessment to decide whether having a laminated inner pane is a better option.
Choosing your rooflight glass unit specification is as important as the frame itself and needs careful consideration.
Not all glass options are suitable for all applications and we would always advise that you discuss your project with us. We have written a helpful article on the practicalities involved in specifying large rooflights.
