Issy and Murray Bryars own a picturesque farm in Dartmoor National Park, Devon.
They recently converted one of their stone barns into a holiday let.
Committed to environmental sustainability and showcasing stunning Dartmoor views, they meticulously planned to create a unique, eco-friendly retreat.
Issy said: “It was always our plan to make the barn conversion as environmentally friendly as possible with solar panels, water filtration, an underflooring system called Jupiter, upcycling furniture and a glulam timber frame from Buckland Timber.
“From the outset we had a strong commitment to using locally sourced materials while supporting local businesses.
"The planning stages involved meticulous research into the various key components of the project, especially the rooflights, which we knew would be such an integral part in the project.”
The barn's unconventional shape, with gable ends at different heights and irregular walls, required bespoke solutions.
Stella's conservation rooflights were ideal. Although the barn isn't listed, the Bryars wanted materials that fit the local aesthetic.
The rooflights' conservation design and stainless steel frame provided a flush-fitting appearance, blending seamlessly with the barn's roofline.
Murray continued: “We didn’t want a cheap imported product or one of the more chunky framed alternatives.
"We were looking to achieve a high quality finish throughout that would do justice to the level of care, attention, effort and dedication that was put in by everyone involved in the project.”
The three large bespoke rooflights enhance the property's aesthetics and create a wow factor in the upstairs living area.
Strategically positioned, they flood the hallway, kitchen, and living areas with natural light while framing the stunning landscape.
These vistas are a key attraction for guests, making the most of the beautiful surroundings in the National Park.
